Museum in a Suitcase
Traveling Science and Natural History Programs

Special Features

  • In-class programs
  • In- field programs
  • French language instruction
  • Summer camps

The Museum-in-a-Suitcase was originally developed for the Eastern Ontario Biodiversity Museum. It's a unique educational experience: the travelling, curriculum-based environmental science and natural history programs come to you.

Available in French and English, programs are tailored to your needs. Interpreted field excursions can also complement in-school programming. Museum-in-a-Suitcase programs enliven life science topics and integrate concepts from other strands. Interdisciplinary applications are also possible.

Museum quality specimens and attractive teaching posters illustrate clear, student-centered teaching, while hands-on, small group activities encourage critical thinking. Microscopes and field study equipment are provided.

Participants feel encouraged to put forth ideas in a welcoming atmosphere where all questions have merit and there are no wrong answers.

Location

I can travel to the location of your choice, or suggest an appropriate outdoor venue to meet your programming needs: wetland, stream, forest, meadow… each has unique biodiversity to explore. I am particularly fond of Limerick Forest and the Ferguson Forest Centre which feature all of the above.
Alternatively, I'll take over your library and receive from 2 to 5 classes per day, depending on the program and the age group.
