St. Lawrence Islands National Park is a small protected area in the heart of the 1000 Islands, an area of rich biodiversity. The park also protects many species at risk, such as the black rat snake and the pitch pine. Students visiting the park have the opportunity to consider the balance between protection and recreation while they explore the habitats typical of the 1000 Islands region. Park islands are accessible by boat only. Programs are held on the mainland waterfront at Mallorytown Landing unless island transportation is arranged through a private tour boat operator.

Location

St. Lawrence Islands National Park is located on the 1000 Islands Parkway, 15 minutes west of Brockville and 25 minutes east of Gananoque. Most of our programs can be modified for an in-class presentation.
